Fixing low click numbers

It’s not just about getting more eyes on your content; it’s about genuinely engaging with your audience and seeing real results.

Learning this means better engagement, better deliverability, more conversions, and a deeper connection with your subscribers.

Why We Struggle to Boost Click Rates

  1. Overwhelming Information: There’s so much advice out there, it’s hard to know where to start.
  2. Lack of Time: Finding the time to test and analyze different strategies can feel impossible.
  3. Technical Challenges: Sometimes the tech side of email marketing can be daunting.

But here’s the thing – overcoming these challenges is not only possible, and I’m going to show you how…it’s essential for your email marketing success.

So let’s get to it.

Revamp Your Link Text and Styles

Your links are the gateway to deeper engagement.

The biggest mistake is trying to be clever with the call-to-action text.

Stop it!

Be clear instead!

The easiest way is using your subject line. If someone opened your email, it’s safe to assume that the subject resonated with them.

Make your call to action text, the same as your subject.

Another strategy is changing the style.

Changing the link style can dramatically increase clicks. Think of your link as the door to your store; you want it to be inviting and noticeable.

How to Do It: Experiment with different link styles – inline text, stand-alone lines, buttons, and color changes.

Inline text are links that are within the middle of a sentence.

A stand-alone line is a link that is on a line by itself.

If you typically use text-based links, switch it up to buttons.

If you typically use buttons, switch it up to text-based links.

As far as colors, be sure they are contrasting enough with the text.

Monitor which style gets the most engagement. Remember, it’s all about making your links stand out and enticing your readers to click.

Big Mistake: Ignoring the data

Many marketers change their email strategies but don’t track the results.

Without data, you’re navigating in the dark.

How to Avoid It: Use tags like “Clicked – Button”, “Clicked – Text”, and so on to track interactions.

Analyze this data to understand what resonates with your audience.

If you don’t want to set up the tagging, then leverage utm_content which is part of the UTM parameters.

utm_content is meant to track elements of content. By adding ?utm_content=text or ?utm_content=button to your links, they’ll at least be separated in your reports.

This insight is gold; it guides your future strategies and helps avoid wasted effort on ineffective tactics.

Test and Learn

Every click you gain is a step closer to a stronger connection with your audience.

This is your chance to turn your emails into a powerhouse of engagement.

These steps are about more than just boosting click rates.

They’re about understanding your audience, refining your message, and building a community that eagerly awaits your emails.

By taking these actions, you’re setting yourself up for a future where your emails are not just opened, but acted upon. Imagine your engagement numbers climb – that’s what awaits you on the other side of these changes.

So go ahead, take these steps, and watch your email marketing transform.

You’ve got this! 💪🏻
